He is well known in the industry in Ontario and has held senior positions in a number of Ontario licensed private investigation agencies.  At present James conducts investigations exclusively in Latin America for Canadian clients.

Yes, James has been teaching private investigators in the province of Ontario for decades.  He has taught courses in private investigations, surveillance techniques, investigative interviewing, professional ethics and risk management.  James was an Instructor of Investigations at Conestoga College where he received exclusively positive reviews from students and administrators.

James Winter has taught private investigators across the world including the UK, Malaysia, Kenya and India.

Presently, James Winter collaborates with Investigations Toronto to offer the Ontario Private Investigator Training Course to students across Ontario.

How are your courses presented?

Our Ontario Private Investigator Training Course is held online in a Zoom classroom.  A Zoom classroom is interactive and very convenient as it allows participants to join from the comfort of their homes while interacting with the instructor and classmates in real time.  This format has been exceedingly successful and universally enjoyed by our students.

Each participant requires a basic computer or laptop with a web camera and an internet connection.

Is your Ontario Private Investigator Training Course authorized

Accepted Answer

Yes, our course is presented in conjunction with Investigations Toronto and is approved by the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General.  Once students have completed this course they will be issued a Training Completion Number (TCN) which will allow them to write the Ontario Private Investigators Test at Service Ontario.

Do I need to have law enforcement experience to be a private investigator

Accepted Answer

No.  Having life experience, maturity and a previous career are enough to start your new career as a private investigator.  Many agencies hire new, inexperienced private investigators and train them to obtain the necessary skills.

A portion of each course offered by James Winter is dedicated to helping students understand this industry and helping them find work.
